Seasonal Sales/Front Desk Associate

Part Time - $13.50/hr

Qualifications

Maritime Gloucester is looking for an outgoing, personable Associate to work part-time in our Museum and Museum Store. Our passion is sharing our fantastic site with the public. We leverage the rich maritime heritage of Gloucester and our unique marine environment to offer a host of exciting educational programs, public pop-up workshops, schooner sailing experiences, and so much more.  

 

This role is a forward-facing role that requires a positive attitude and customer service energy.  You will be interacting with the public throughout your workday. Responsibilities include selling admission and encouraging guests to become members, selling tickets or booking charters for the schooner Ardelle, handling money, answering phones, light cleaning, selling merchandise, stocking gift shop items, pricing merchandise, and other duties as needed. Experience in the retail or tourism industry is desired. A cheerful and helpful disposition is a necessity. Ability to learn and operate POS and other required technology a must.

Rental Event Staffer

Part Time - $13.50/hr

Qualifications

Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)

Maritime Gloucester is looking for an outgoing, personable staff member to work part-time to be an on-site coordinator during our rental events. This role requires the employee to maintain a working knowledge of our operations and systems to provide support to parties that rent our facility.

This is a forward-facing role that requires a positive attitude and customer service energy. You will be interacting with vendors and with our clients during their events. Responsibilities include maintaining site protocols, answering phones, light clean up, ensuring site safety and cleanliness, locking up and turning off lights, being the emergency contact for Maritime Gloucester during these events, and other duties as needed. Experience in the retail or tourism industry is a plus. A cheerful but firm disposition is a necessity. The role requires much weekend work and late nights.

School Programs Manager

Part-Time - $20.00/hr

Qualifications

High School degree or equivalent (Required)

School Administration and/or K-12 classroom teaching experience: 4 years (Preferred)

Sales or Client Management: 2 years (Preferred)

Program Management: 1 year (Preferred)

Maritime Gloucester is looking for a dedicated professional to work part-time in our Education Department.  The School Programs Manager (SPM) will be responsible for coordinating the ongoing relationship with the Gloucester Public Schools, creating opportunities for growth of our award-winning Ocean Explorers program and fostering deeper collaboration with our local educational partners.  The SPM will also identify, create, and coordinate new opportunities for our programming in preK through 12th grade education with regional school districts.

This role is a forward-facing role that requires a positive attitude, clear communication, a love of and understanding of Maritime Gloucester's mission, and a working knowledge of school administration and/or classroom delivery.  You will be interacting with school administrators, office staff, teachers, non-profit partner organizations, and PTO groups throughout your workday. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to marketing of our programs to decision-makers within school systems, creating collaborative and mutually supportive educational experiences with our partners, managing the sales of and coordinating the delivery and experience for school field trips, and identifying new opportunities for our educational mission.
