Our Annual Spring Lecture Series was cut short by the COVID-19 stay at home order. We are planning some virtual lectures as we go forward. In celebration of this much-missed series, here is a look at the popular 2016 lecture by Harold Burnham for his book The Shipwright & The Schooner.
The Shipwright and the Schooner is available in the Maritime Gloucester Museum Store by contacting us at email@example.com.
Thank you to Matthew Benincasa for the video production.

One of the best parts of Maritime Gloucester is Harold Burnham. A constant partner and a true benefit to our education and preservation mission, Harold and Mary Kay Taylor built our flagship, the pinky schooner Ardelle, back in 2011. Our working waterfront would not be the same without them.
This week's Throwback is a double offering, with the video of the Ardelle first entering Gloucester Harbor in 2011 on the way to her new home at Maritime Gloucester and the audio recording "A Conversation with Boatbuilder, Harold Burnham" from Art Works. This interview is part of Harold's 2012 National Heritage Fellowship and NEA Award, which is the highest honor this country can give to folk and traditional artists. Listen here
A big thank you to Good Morning Gloucester and to Barbara Luster for the footage.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Due to an unavoidable scheduling issue, this week's Front Line Friday will be postponed until next week. We appreciate you following this very popular series and can't wait to continue it next week. See you then!
