About the event

David Tory is the now retired co-founder of the Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF) and author of the recently released book Exploration: the Stanfield Chronicles. Join us as David introduces us to his character Isaac Stanfield, a young man with a thirst for adventure who leaves his home to become a sailor on a merchantman, the Sweet Rose, and through ingenuity and sheer luck, finds himself in the middle of the drama and explorations that precede the departure of the Mayflower for New England in 1620.

David will be giving a lecture and reading excerpts from his book at Maritime Gloucester. Refreshments will be served following the Q & A session featuring Russel Orchard cider donuts, hot mulled cider, wine and cheese.
