Maritime Gloucester is excited to offer the following Week-Long programs for Summer 2019
COASTAL EXPLORERS - Sailing and Science - July 15th-19th, 8:30 am-3:30 pm - Ages 8-11
Through this week-long program students will learn by sailing a traditional Gloucester fishing schooner while participating in exciting hands-on marine science and maritime heritage explorations at Maritime Gloucester & along the coast of the North Shore.
Students will spend two days on shore exploring topics in marine science and maritime heritage in MG’s labs, aquarium and in the field. On the water we venture to different coastal destinations aboard Schooner Ardelle
COASTAL EXPLORERS - Voyagers - July 29th - Aug 2nd, 8:30 am-3:30 pm - Ages 11-15
Get ready to climb the lighthouse on Thatcher's Island and learn about it's nesting seabirds, navigate to Dry Salvages to see seals up close, and explore an island with tide pools and a shipwreck. This week is packed with fun excursions with every day a new adventure!
